Restaurant Review: The Salty

The Salty is a really cool gourmet donut shop with multiple locations in Texas and Florida. I've only been to the Dallas location in the Bishop Arts District, but they recently opened a location on South Congress Street in Austin that I've been meaning to try.

Though it is a little on the pricey side, you get a lot for your money at The Salty. The donuts are really big and the flavors are so unique; it's honestly more like eating cake! They also have gluten-free options which my mom really enjoyed, and the menu rotates on a seasonal basis.

In addition to really good donuts, The Salty also has really good lattes. I went with my family on Thanksgiving morning last year and we got pumpkin spice lattes along with the Thanksgiving special donuts. Because it's in the Bishop Arts District, we easily filled the entire morning walking around after breakfast and checking out some of the great shopping nearby.

The Salty is a great spot for people with a sweet-tooth and I totally recommend checking it out if you're near any of their locations!
